Match Facts

After almost two months of round robin action, the business end of Big Bash 08 has finally arrived and the second semi final sees the Melbourne Renegades host the Sydney Sixers at Marvel Stadium on Friday .

A pitiful performance from the Sixers in the last match when they were bowled out for just 74 runs made them end third on the points table but surely with a top six batting line up that doesn’t rely on any individual, surely such a pitiful effort won’t be repeated.

The opening partnership has been a key problem for the Renegades this year, with star duo Marcus Harris and Aaron Finch only having had three at bats together (due to international call ups). In fact Marvel Stadium has the lowest power play score this season with just 36.3 scored on average.

Fantasy Cricket- Players to watch out for

  1. Kane Richardson- He has taken the most wickets this season, and with a big finals campaign he remain in the running for league MVP honors. He has found the Sixers batting line up much to his liking this year having taken six wickets already.
  2. Sean Abbott-He is a proven fantasy asset and with the pitch tipped to support the bowlers he can really earn some great points for the fantasy players.
  3. Mohammad Nabi- He took four wickets the last time these two teams played but will miss the semis and a potential final as he has been called up for national duties.
  4. Tom Curran-His all round ability makes him a good fit for any fantasy squad.

Venue & Average first innings score

The average first innings score at the Marvel Stadium is 154.
